Kipling Cottages / The Last Resort is located in the Upper Peninsula in Gladstone Michigan, on Lake Michigan. Little Bay de Noc is known for great fishing, the "Walleye Capital of the World". We provide everything you need in our clean, comfortable, updated two bedroom cottage. Just bring your food and personal belongings. We provide high speed internet, smart TVs (ROKU), secure self check in with keypad locks. Deck, outdoor seating, firepit, gas and charcoal grills. Kayaks, paddle boat and canoe are included for guests to use.

Excellent central UP location for sightseeing. Day trips to Fayette, Kitchitikipi, Pictured Rocks, Munising waterfalls, Marquette, Manistique, Iron Mountain, Menominee are all just about an hour away. Gladstone and Escanaba have beautiful parks and beaches.

Each cottage can accommodate 2 vehicles and one boat(20 feet or less) at the dock. You can launch your boat one driveway away. Bait shops and a public launch are just a mile away.

Stacy & Carl are the owners of The Kipling Cottages.
We purchase and renovated The Last Resort in 2022. Three cottages on Little Bay de Noc (Lake Michigan) in Gladstone, Michigan.

The Little House on Bayshore Drive was purchased and renovated in 2023.

We love sharing our properties with families so they can enjoy their vacations and making memories.

We are pet friendly. Dogs are welcome. We just ask that you clean up after them and don't leave your pets unattended as a courtesy to other guests. Sorry, cannot allow cats or rabbits due to allergies.

House Rules
We ask that you respect our property and treat it good.
Be a good neighbor.
No smoking in cottage.
Don't leave dogs unattended.
No dogs on bedding, pillows or towels.
If your dog sleeps in your bed, bring your own bedding.
Don't flush anything except toilet paper.
Bonfire must be in designated fire pit.
Clean fish at cleaning station, NOT inside cottage.
Do not move grills.
Do not rearrange furniture.
No ice cleats on decks or inside!
One boat 20' or less per cottage.
Two vehicles per cottage.
Put kayaks, paddle boats and canoe back after every use.
Do not leave on the beach.
Paddle boats need to be clipped to the post to the left of the docks.
If something breaks, let us know.

Payment Policy
50% deposit due to book your reservation. Remaining balance is due 30 days prior to check in. You can pay online, or send check/ money order in mail. Check must clear prior to check in.
Damage Deposit Policy
As a security deposit alternative, Houfy Protect, an upfront nonrefundable low cost property damage protection policy for just $5 per night, is taken at time of booking.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellations over 60 days prior to check in get full refund minus 4% processing fee (no processing fee if you paid by check)
30-60 days prior get 50%refund
Less than 30 days, no refund.
